Academy of World Languages (AWL) is a PreK-8 magnet school providing a diverse cultural climate and foreign-language learning opportunities including Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian.

AWL offers an extensive English as a Second Language (ESL) program to students from 37 countries.

Students are only accepted into the foreign language program in grades K-1. AWL preschool students receive automatic admittance. Students enrolling into the English as a Second Language (ESL) Program may be admitted at any grade.

Staff and students represent over 37 nationalities and speak over 30 languages.

Students in all grades receive foreign-language instruction at least 150 minutes on a weekly basis.

A family-friendly environment offers more communication among teachers, parents, students, and administrators

AWL has been awarded a Foreign Language Assistance Program (FLAP) grant for $742,000 to enhance and expand the current and technology use in our foreign language classrooms.

A full-time nurse is on staff to attend to students' medical needs.

Students completing 8th grade at AWL receive automatic admission, if desired, into Withrow International High School.

Head Start preschool and tuition preschool is offered.

Extended Learning Programs offer after-school enrichment and tutoring support.

Program for gifted students is provided.
